“The great part of Rachael vs. Guy, outside of Rachael and I spending 14 hours a day together, is that our celebrity guests can actually cook. The reason they’re on the show is because they truly want to become better cooks while raising money for charity, ” said Guy Fieri, one of the celebrity cooking mentors about the second season of Rachael vs Guy: Celebrity Cook Off.
Rachel Ray, the captain of his opposing team, added that “Viewers will be amazed at the contestants’ skills in the kitchen as they battle it out for their charity. And it is always great to compete for ultimate bragging rights against Guy.”
What it’s all about? What are we talking about? On January 6th, 2013, the second season of Food Network’s Rachael vs Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off is set to premiere. The news season is back with eight celebrities cooking against each other in hopes to win $50 000 for the charities they are playing for.
These are the celebrities taking part of this year’s culinary challenges:
Gilbert Gottfried: actor, comedian
Kathy Najimy: actress (Sister Act)
Hines Ward: former NFL player (Super Bowl champion and MVP)
Carnie Wilson: singer (Wilson Phillips)
Chilli: member of pop/R&B group TLC
Cornelia Guest: designer, author, philanthropist
Dean McDermott: actor, reality television star
Johnny Weir: two-time Olympic Figure Skater, three-time U.S. National Champion
As teams they head out to the west coast and start competing each other over the six-episode season filled with intense challenges. The team that loses, has to send its two bottom-rated contestants to face off against each other and one of them will be leaving the competition based on a blind tasting elimination challenge.
