Reality News: Former American Idols Win Big at the American Music Awards
Many in the music industry initially viewed American Idol winners and contestants as a bit of a joke, but the jokes on them as three Idols won big tonight at the American Music Awards. Christ Daughtry, who finished fourth in season five of the show, and his band Daughtry won the Favorite Breakthrough Artist award, Favorite Pop-Rock Album award (for “Daughtry”), and Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist.
Not to be outdone, season four winner Carrie Underwood continues to take the country music community by storm as she won the Favorite Female Country Artist award, the Favorite Country Album award (for “Some Hearts”), and the T-Mobile Text-In award.
