Graham Blows It on the Bachelorette
No other way to say it other than last night Graham blew it. It has been no secret that DeAnna was very attractive to Graham. Every time she spoke about him you could see that sparkle in her eye. The problem was that DeAnna our bachelorette wants a husband and that man needs to make her feel that she is and always will be the center of attention. Unfortunately for Graham he is not a very open person and I get the impression that he is very scared of having a serious relationship. My guess is if we get to see what he wrote to her in that letter we will get our answers.
Last night, DeAnna got the chance to meet the families of the remaining men and get the opportunity to learn more about them. She first got to meet Jesse in his home town of Breckenridge, Colarado where he took DeAnna snowboarding at the Arapahoe Basin. He was definitely in his element. The two of them had so much fun snowboarding. His parents were very down to earth simple people. I really became so impressed with Jesse when we learned about his non-profit organization JSAK (“Just Snowboarding Ambitious Kids”). Their mission statement is “Helping snowboarders with Olympic aspirations raise money for training, travel and related expenses so that they may reach their snowboarding & life goals.” It was cool to learn that Jesse was born 12 years after his parents were married. They had given up on having children. When he was born, they named him Jesse which means “A Gift from God”. Their date ended with the two of them kissing during a romantic carriage ride.
DeAnna then flew off to Dallas, Texas to meet Jeremy. He surprised her when he rode up to her on his motorcycle. He took her for a ride on it to give her a tour of the city. She got the opportunity to meet his two brothers and his sister in law. You could tell that he is very close to his brothers because they just simply grilled DeAnna with questions. She handled it very well and felt drawn to him because of his close bonds to family. Jeremy and DeAnna share a bond with losing parents at a young age. The sister in law was quick to point out that was one of the strongest things in her marriage to Jeremy’s brother that bond them.
DeAnna met Jason in Seattle, Washington. Not only was DeAnna going to meet Jason, but she was going to meet the most important person in his life; his son. He is actually the first person that she has dated that had a child. They met at the Space Needle. Jason took her to the top so she could get a full view of Seattle. They first took the time to meet Jason’s son. They spent part of the day at the park; feeding the ducks and playing at the playground. She enjoyed meeting Jason’s Mom, Dad, 2 brothers and sister. The family was big and reminded her of her own.
The final date was with Graham in his home town of Raleigh, North Carolina. They met at his high school where he played basketball. They spent part of the time playing basketball together. DeAnna was pleasantly surprised as this was one of the first times that Graham has actually opened up to her. I think DeAnna was very interested in meeting his parents because she was hoping to hear more about Graham. Unfortunately I don’t think she heard what she wanted to about Graham from his mother. Her mom described her son as “very protective and a kind of a loner”. In her mind, this really confirmed her biggest fears about him that he was never going to be able to fully open up to her. Their final time together on their date was just spent in silence. Graham totally shut down and you can see that really bothered her.
I don’t think anyone really thought it was going to happen just yet, but DeAnna was unable to give a rose to Graham last night. They spent some time outside with DeAnna doing all of the talking. You could tell that she was visibly a mess over sending him home. He really did not have anything to say other than to give her a letter that contains his feelings and asked that she reads it at some point.
I guess not totally shocking that she sent Graham home. After all, she is looking for a husband.
