Great performances tonight on Dancing With The Stars in the finale
What can I say about tonight’s Dancing With The Stars finale? How about wow. I thought Jerry Rice was amazing tonight. While his freestyle dance was not as difficult as Drew and Cheryl’s and not as clean as Stacy and Tony’s I thought it was the best performance of the evening. I loved how he kept in character during the post-dance backstage interview (“Daddy’s talking here”).
Drew Lacey was unbelievable. His Paso Doble was amazing, and I was completely blown away by his freestyle routine. I’ll take his cowboy over a horse any day!
I was really disappointed by Stacy Keibler’s freestyle routine. In the behind the scenes segment for this week we saw her working on a trapeze and a trampoline. I thought for sure she’d be doing all kind of crazy tricks (like Kelly Monaco in last season’s finale). Her performance, as always, was superior. It was really boring compared to the other performances – especially performing after Jerry Rice who was wearing an Afro wig and 70’s clothes. When all was said and done Jerry and Anna actually beat Stacy and Tony in the freestyle performance. Who would ever have guessed that was possible?!
So who will be crowned champion of Dancing With The Stars? Jerry and Anna got the five votes I was able to get in from my home phone. I’ve been trying on my cell phone constantly since the end of Jerry’s performance to vote again (this time for Drew and Cheryl). It’s now 10:20 p.m. Eastern Time and I have not been able to get through one more time. Since the lines are busy I guess this is a good thing for Drew. All I know is I can’t wait to see who is going to take home the trophy Sunday night.
