Greatest American Dog: Bill and Star are Expelled
The remaining contestants on Greatest American Dog were rather glad Beth Joy was gone, but thankful Bill was still around, as he was willing to help everyone. The first challenge was to see how long the dogs could sit in a small circle while Susie, an elephant, came towards them. Everyone eventually ran out of the circle except Andrew and Presley. Presley tried to get up a few times, but Andrew didn’t budge at all! In the tiebreaker, the elephant came charging towards the dogs and at the very, very end, Presley raised his hind legs, giving the win to Andrew.
His leg up advantage was to have a stunt dog trainer for the next event – the stunt dog challenge! The dogs have to go up a steep incline, walk a beam, then hop off a platform attached to a zip line. There were two courses – the red, more challenging course and the blue, easier course. Everyone took the red for all events except Star and Andrew, who went up the blue incline. Obviously Andrew did the less steep incline because he has such short legs, but when asked why Star didn’t go up the red incline, Bill said she wouldn’t run with the harness on. That may have been his downfall. Both Andrew and Star failed to jump off the platform and were named the weakest along with Travis and Presley. The judges told Travis that he couldn’t control Presley and made it harder for him to perform the tricks. I’m assuming the judges sent Bill and Star home because of choosing the easy incline.

I so disagreed with the judges sending Bill and Star home. He was the class of the competition. I think that we might be seeing him again, though because I have a suspicion that JD and Galaxy are going to have to pull out because of Galaxy’s injury and the judges will bring back Bill and Star to make it an even playing field.

Sorry, I forgot…
The judges criticized Bill a week or so ago for pushing his dog too hard during the puppy maze challenge. So this week he recognizes the limitations of Star and doesn’t push too hard and he is criticized for it. What in the world do the judges want? Push the dog, don’t push the dog, make up your mind.
