Hell’s Kitchen: Amanda Leaves the Kitchen
The “Hell’s Kitchen” challenge this week was the taste test. Chef Ramsay had Tennille set out. Andy said he had crazy taste buds and was up for the challenge. He knew lychee, whatever that is, but then missed avocado. It was all riding on him for the Blue Team win, but he couldn’t identify ahi tuna and the girls won. For the win, the girls got to go to the V Lounge where they got to dine in the dark. Seriously, in the pitch black dark! Amanda used the dark as an excuse to cop a feel from Chef Ramsay.
The guys had to make sorbet. The berries were in one container, so they had to separate them by hand. Then they had to drink beautiful meals ground up in a blender. That was nasty – duck milkshake just sounds gross! Finally, they had to polish glasses for the night.
The girls were annoyed by Suzanne and formed an “anti-Suzanne” team. Tennille tried to tell Suzanne her scallops were too dark, but Suzanne ignored her. Chef Ramsay liked the color on the scallops and Tennille just rolled her eyes. Over on the Blue Team, the diners were complaining about Van’s risotto. Amanda got in trouble for falling behind at her station. Andy was supposed to call out tickets, but he was lost. Sabrina and Suzanne were having trouble working together on the Red Team. Sabrina sent out raw lamb, saying Suzanne “forced” her to send it out because they weren’t working together. Chef Ramsay kicked Sabrina out of the kitchen and sent her to the dining room to eat her raw lamb. Chef Ramsay was happy with Tennille’s lamb.
Over in the Blue Kitchen, Andy told Chef Ramsay that they were close to running out of potatoes. Andy ran out and Dave grabbed potato ends and said he could make mashed potatoes with that. Chef Ramsay made Andy tell the three remaining tables that they had run out of potatoes but were working on them. Chef Ramsay accused Andy of giving up, but at least all the entrees went out.
Sabrina came back into the kitchen. This time her lamb was ready, but Suzanne still needed more time for her halibut. He made Suzanne take the tray of everything else back and everyone had to start over again, which pissed all the other girls off. Amanda offered to help Suzanne, but some fish went out raw. Suzanne blamed Amanda and Chef Ramsay just blew his top. The Red Team finally got all their entrees out and the dinner service was completed.
Chef Ramsay declared the Blue Team the winners, saying Dave gave one of the best performances. He told Tennille that he was glad she was still there and tonight was her best service. She chose to nominate Suzanne because she wasn’t a team player and Sabrina because she hasn’t helped the team be successful. Chef Ramsay also called out Amanda.
Suzanne told Chef Ramsay she thought she was there for personal reasons. Sabrina blamed Suzanne for her lamb being raw. Chef Ramsay told Suzanne to get back in line and decided to send Amanda home. Guess she shouldn’t have groped him in the dark!
