Hell’s Kitchen: Jason is Sent Home
Tonight, the challenge was to cut a chicken into eight pieces. Each chef had five minutes to cut up a chicken, but the men fell short and lost the challenge. For winning, the girls got to go to the Saddle Ranch, where they saw weepy Aaron from last season. The guys had to go out in the hot sun and pick peppers. They blamed Craig for the loss since he only got 2 out of 8 possible pieces correct.
At Hell’s Kitchen, part of the girls reward for winning was Chef Ramsay sent Bobby out to cook tableside while the girls got to use Jean-Phillipe. Jason didn’t know the menu…again. After going upstairs to study, he wanted to give up, but Louross talked him into coming back down, but he still didn’t know the dessert menu. He told Chef Ramsay he was done and he wanted to go home. Chef Ramsay kept after him until he finally got the menu out and stayed.
Petrozza got a compliment from Chef Ramsay for his appetizers, but Craig was lagging behind with the bacon for other appetizers. Over on the girl’s side, they finally got their appetizers out, but Vanessa’s meat was raw. After Chef Ramsay yelled at her, she cried. Ben’s salmon was a little burnt, so Bobby decided to dice up some chicken tableside. Rosann almost set the kitchen on fire when she scorched the beef, which of course ticked off Chef Ramsay. After Ben tried the salmon again, it was raw. The guys tried to get out dessert, but Jason was in charge of that and it just looked terrible. After he told Chef Ramsay he was going to try to put sugar, butter, and cocoa on the bowl to keep it from sticking, Chef Ramsay went to a table and starting hitting his head on it and closed the kitchen.
There was no winning team tonight – Chef Ramsay chose Petrozza and Christina and told them to pick one person from their team to nominate. Since Christina and Corey weren’t getting along, Corey worried she would be nominated, but Christina nominated Vanessa for scotching the meat. Petrozza nominated Jason for lacking cooking and communication skills.
Chef Ramsay told Vanessa she would get another chance and sent Jason home, telling him that he had given up earlier and Chef had saved him.
