Hell’s Kitchen: Jen is Eliminated
Tonight, Chef Ramsay told the contestants they would face the “mother” of all challenges and he wasn’t kidding. They were to cook for 80 mystery customers. Turns out the customers were all moms-to-be! Christina made a island turkey sandwich, Corey made a grilled salmon B.L.T., Petrozza made a monte cristo sandwich, and Jen made calypso grouper. The problem was, when the guests arrived, everyone had their plates completed except Corey. The hungry pregnant women had to wait on her to finish her lunch. The moms-to-be got to choose the winner. It was a close one – only two votes separating first place and second place. But Christina ended up beating out Petrozza. I hated to see Petrozza lose, but the prize was a shopping spree on Rodeo Drive. Corey and Jen were ticked that Christina got it instead of them.
That night, Chef Ramsay asked the chefs to work as a team, but shine individually. They did off and on. Everyone had their brilliant moments, but then Jen served mushy rice, Christina burned Chef Ramsay’s hand not once but twice with a hot pan, and Cory send out undercooked fish. Petrozza got yelled at for his workstation being messy, but even Chef Ramsay eventually admitted that Petrozza’s meat was so perfect, he didn’t care if he was a pig.
The service went off well and in record time. Chef Ramsay asked the final four to go back and pick two. They tried to write down two names to nominate, but Jen, not following the rules, voted twice for Christina. But, it came back to bit her in the butt. They nominated Jen and Corey. I was worried because Corey had performed poorly at the lunch and even thought maybe Chef would call out Christina for burning him. He finally said “Corey…say goodbye to Jen.” And so it is down to the final three – Petrozza, Christina, and Corey. Frankly, I am pulling for Petrozza.
