Hell’s Kitchen: Matt Leaves
After a 6 a.m. call, in which the Hell’s Kitchen contestants were taken to the building where the new restaurant will be and shown the $250,000, they were told that they were now one team and set out for their first individual challenge.
Each chef was given a meat or seafood and told to put a spin on it. Matt was told his veal was nice. Christina’s sea bass was “quite fascinating.” Bobby’s duck was overcooked, but Petrozza did well with his chicken. Corey cooked up lobster soup, but Chef Ramsay was disappointed she didn’t use the whole chicken. Jen scared Chef Ramsay by cutting of her ribeye, but he was so impressed with the dish, he told her she was the winner and he was going to put that dish on his menu. She won a trip to Las Vegas to have dinner with last year’s winner, Rock. She could take one chef with her and she chose Corey, which was kind of strange, but she doesn’t really get along with anyone. They had a great time in Vegas while the losing chefs had to unload and stock the deliveries.
Matt hurt his shoulder while carrying in ice and he and Christina fought all day and into the next, even in Hell’s Kitchen. The team had to serve twice as many customers since they were one team now and they failed miserably. Jen over salted the risotto, Matt kept screwing up the meat orders, Corey burnt her hand, and then refused to leave the kitchen until Chef Ramsay told her to get out. Matt blamed his troubles on a migraine and when he said he had no feeling in his hand, Chef Ramsay told him to get out and lay down. The only two that didn’t screw up were Bobby and Petrozza, but those two have always been pretty solid all along.
After Jen burned the rice that had been sitting next to Christina, Chef Ramsay closed down the kitchen. He told the top six they were pathetic and everyone should go upstairs and decide on two people to nominate. Matt stayed behind to talk to him, wondering if he should leave or not, but Chef Ramsay told him to fight. However, the group decided to nominate him and Christina, even though Corey nominated herself. She told Chef Ramsay that downstairs and he told her she was right. In the end, he sent Matt home. He did tell Matt, who he said had given him a migraine every since he walked in the door, “don’t stop” before he left.

None of these chefs deserve to be the executive chef of a fancy restaurant. Could you see them up against the contestants on Top Chef? Top Chef would have them for breakfast.

True, either they are not that good or maybe the show just thrives on the drama instead of the cooking. I think the only two who have not been portrayed badly so far are Bobby and Petrozza - I think it will come down to those two.
