HGTV announces their new show “Summer Showdown”
I saw a commercial for an interesting show tonight during HGTV’s Design Star. On August 3rd at 10:00 pm (following the finale of Design Star) a new show will premier – Summer Showdown. Teams of two designers that are well known to HGTV viewers will compete in a head to head competition. Over four shows these teams will makeover rooms in desperate need of change. Viewers across America submitted photos to HGTV and four of these rooms will be selected. The rooms will be recreated in HGTV’s Designer Dome when in a timed competition they will be redone.
So who are the designers competing in Summer Showdown: Vern Yip and Cynthia Rowley (currently judges on Design Star), Lauren Lake (from Spice Up My Kitchen), Carter Oosterhouse (from Carter Can) and Lisa LaPorta (my favorite designer on Designed to Sell).
I can’t wait to see this show. I’m hoping it will be even better than Design Star.

Is this coming back? I want more of Angelo Surmelis and Lisa Laporta – they were good together I thought!!!???
