High School Musical: Get in the Picture: Eastern Open Call
The six faculty members set out to Orlando, FL and various places across the U.S. to find the 12 finalists. The winner would get to be the lead in a High School Musical video. The six faculty members were Chris Prinzo (dance and vocal coach), Regina Williams (dance instructor), Jen Malenke (vocal coach), Rob Adler (acting coach), Montre Burton (performing arts instructor), and Tiana Brown (choreographer), who for some reason did not get a introduction caption until well into the show.
Host Nick Lachey presided over the Orlando auditions. One that about it – these judges are no Simon Cowell! All were very nice and compassionate to those that didn’t make it. Nerves seemed to get to most of them such as Joel Vasquez and Cesar De La Rosa. Some were just not good singers and were turned down. But, a few made it through to the semi finals including Jordan Kauffman (the jock with the flu), Brooke Aquirre (who chose the strangest audition song I’ve ever heard – The theme to The Jeffersons!), John Honaker, Briana Vega (the homeschooler), Estefania Alegria (who I was pretty sure wasn’t going to take no for an answer), Stephen Russell (a small town boy), and Jessalyn Bertone (the birthday girl).
The judges also make unknown visits to towns to see kids submitted by teachers and parents. Moving on directly to the semi-finals are Domingo Menese and Tierney Chamberlain (these two were good!) from Wisconsin, Anthony Acito from Boston (loved the belly flop on the gym floor), and Bailey Purvis (whose mom said she is demanding – hello drama!) from Louisiana.
There were also many kids moving on to the semi-finals from Pennsylvania – tomboy Jeana Zettler, Lauren (who was sweet but could belt out a song), James Wolpert (who had only been singing for a year), and ladies man Isaiah Smith.

the east coasr finalists were pretty accurate, i think. Tho i would have picked ciara over tierniy. ciara at least had a personality – the other one waqs just so blah. brianna and tony were my favorites, i’m glad brianna made it. i hope she wins
