High School Musical: Get in the Picture: TJ goes to the Chorus
This week on High School Musical, the lesson was first impressions. The students had to audition for three jobs: as a singing telegram, as an entertainer at children’s parties, and as a sign spinner on the side of the road. It was funny seeing James sing dressed as a banana and seeing Tierney try to calm children that were way out of control. In the end, the “employers” would have hired Stan for the sign spinning and singing telegram positions, while Isaiah was chosen as the best for the children entertainer job. James, feeling he had embodied the spirit of a banana, was a bit disappointed.
The chorus students learn to control their voices with a breathing exercise that they all seemed to hate. We found out that Bailey and Tierney are close as they gossip about Shayna and Stan. Then Shayna talked to her boyfriend Colin on the phone and cried.
After a meeting with Zac Efron (I thought Bailey was going to pass out), the students found out they would be singing old sitcom theme tunes like The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Cheers. Most didn’t even have a clue about the songs. James was the security guard of a wax museum where the figurines came to life and it was a pretty cute routine. The judges felt the stand out performer was Christina (she was surprised!). TJ was sent to the chorus, but he seemed okay with it. It seemed that James, whose name was called last, was more broken up about it than TJ.
