How will they ever fill a full hour next week on Skating With Celebrities?
This week, by far, was the longest show of Skating With Celebrities, yet it was the same one hour as the past few weeks. Four performances is way too litle for a 60 minute show. We were treated to commercial breaks of 3 and 4 minutes all the way through the show. The shot of Bruce Jenner’s blood on the ice was at least 5 to 10 seconds long – way too much time and way too much information.
Next week the judges pick the music for the skaters. Let’s hope they pick songs at least 10 minutes long. What are the producers going to do to fill the 50 minutes that the skaters aren’t on the ice?
Scott Hamilton does a recap of the performances before Bruce and Tai’s performance. Hello. There were only three other teams that performed, and two of them had tied for the lead with THE SAME SCORE. I may not be a member of Mensa, but I can remember the order of three pairs of skaters that have performed in the past 40 minutes.
What was it with the scores for Tai and Bruce and Nancy and Dave? I think they were pity scores. Perhaps the judges didn’t want to embarrass the teams after giving scores above 9 to Jillian Barberie and Kristy Swanson and their partners. If that’s the case they need to take a lesson from Len Goodman and the judges on Dancing With the Stars. They had no problem giving Master P (P Miller) a 2 and a 4 out of 10.
It’s becoming crystal clear that “Grand Finale” (hey, isn’t that a Dancing With the Stars term?) is going to be Jillian and Kristie. How on earth are they going to fill an hour with just these 2 performances? Maybe they’ll do a recap and show their previous performances? Who knows.
