I Scream, You Scream
I am definitely to separate those I like and those I despise on Top Chef. Favorites: Cliff, Betty, Frank. Those I despise: Emily, Marcel, Marisa. I could not believe how rude Emily was when she was talking about the woman who told her her calming chocolate and lavender ice cream was not sweet enough. And Marcel – did he really think bacon and avocado ice cream would go over well with regular people? How dumb is he? I loved it that Cliff, who was worried because he had never made ice cream, won, although Josie’s peach cobbler ice cream looked good! I also thought it was funny that Marisa, Ms. Pastry Chef, Emily, and Marcel (his hair just annoys me!) were all in the bottom three.
For the elimination challenge, the chefs were to take their childhood favorite and put an adult twist on it. The winner would get their dish featured on 500 T.G.I. Fridays menus. There were several arrogant “fine dining” chefs that complained about making normal food, but as Betty said, an important part of being a top chef is versatility. Marcel whined because the fryer temperature was lowered after Michael used it. I loved when Betty told him “anything that will f*** you up is fair.” He is such a whiner and I am so tired of his pompous attitude. The top three chefs were Betty, Cliff, and Sam, with Betty being chosen the winner (take that Marcel). The bottom three was Michael, Emily, and Frank. Apparently Emily can dish it out, but cannot take it as she was crying while the judges made their decision. Frank’s dish was just weird, Michael’s was sloppy, but Emily’s was apparently inedible because everything was so salty. Like someone said, tasting your dishes is Cooking 101, so Emily was eliminated.
