I wonder if they’ll be any “showmances” in season 7 of DWTS
I’ve mentioned it before, I am so excited and ready for season 7 of Dancing With The Stars. My DWTS question of today is do you think any romances will break out this season? And not a “bromance” like that of Jason Taylor and Cristian de la Fuente from season 6. I mean an all out, sexy, steamy, get a room romance.
It’s probably pretty natural that romances blossom on the show. I mean the celebrities and their partners are spending a great deal of time together. I remember someone (I can’t remember who unfortunately) saying that they spent more time with their professional partner than with their spouse while they were on the show. There has to be a level of trust and teamwork that grows out of these partnerships or they won’t be successful. It sounds as if a natural recipe for romance exists with this show.
There have been romances in past seasons of the show. During season 3 there were rumors of a romance between Willa Ford and professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Both stars denied these rumors. A real romance between Mario Lopez and professional partner Karina Smirnoff did blossom that season. There are always stories on the internet that their relationship is on the rocks but I’ve done some research and can’t find any definite statements from their publicists saying that it’s over. (I make the disclaimer that it is of the date of this blog entry that this information is correct to the best of my knowledge. If anyone knows any differently please post a comment with a link for me since I’m really interested in finding out more.) Season 5 gave birth to the romance of Sabrina Bryan and professional partner Mark Ballas, but that romance has ended according to a story on the Us Weekly web site in May 2008. Last season (season 6) we saw a romance blossom between Shannon Elizabeth and her professional partner Derek Hough. Or was it a faux-mance? I’ve read reports on the internet that said it was real and it wasn’t real so who knows?
My opinion about these show romances – as long as the two individuals are of age and are single then good for them. I hope they have a ball together. I only have problems when there are innocent bystanders involved.
How many days until the premier of Season 7 of DWTS? Too many in my opinion!
