Idol Contestants perform Queen
I was not looking forward to tonight’s performances. Queen is my all time favorite group and I just knew the Idol contestants were going to butcher my much-loved songs. But, it wasn’t actually quite as horrible as I had imagined. Bucky did surprisingly well on Fat Bottomed Girls. Ace turned my stomach a bit with his song, but I thought Katharine did well. I did not like the way they arranged Somebody to Love for Elliott. He did okay, but it should have been so much better. It just seemed like he starting singing in the middle of the song. Taylor did well, but I was a little disappointed in song choice – we had already heard David sing Crazy Little Thing Called Love earlier in the season. I didn’t really care for Chris’ version of Innuendo, but I did enjoy Paris. From what I’ve read, everyone else hated her version of The Show Must Go On, but for me, I saw a different side of Paris – the rocker side – and I enjoyed it. I thought Kellie was the worst of the night – who in their right mind would take on Bohemian Rhapsody? Yeah, she looked cool – in fact, with the haircut, she looked like a young Roger Taylor (Queen’s drummer) circa 1975. My choices for bottom three this week is Ace, Kellie, and Elliott.
Gossip: Bucky was once arrested for impersonating his twin brother Rocky. Rocky was involved in a wreck and his license was suspended, so they talked the other guy involved into saying it was Bucky, but eventually, the other guy came clean. Oops!
