Is She Crazy or What?
Lydia, the Condo Queen, was charged with selling two condos in Malbiu for Chet – one at Holiday Home and one at Malibu Bay Club. The Holiday Home condo price was $2.699 million and the Malibu Bay Club was $2.7 million. Lydia was also trying to plan her wedding to Frank at the same time. She met Ron and Amy through Frank and they were interested in both condos. Amy liked the Holiday House condo better and they made an offer of $2.4 million. Chet didn’t even blink an eyelash before saying no, he wanted full price. Lydia’s wedding went well, despite losing $120,000 in potential commissions.
Ray and Dia had a harder task in leading divorcee Antoinette to sell her Mullholland house. As Ray put it, Antoinette was neurotic. That was being nice. The house was bought for $280,000 and they were asking $1,294 million, but Antoinette was freaking out. Ray got an offer that was $34,000 over the asking price but he had to respond within 24 hours. Antoinette was busy drinking champagne while driving to her hypnotist session. They finally got her in the office and it turns out that the potential buyers were playing a game. They offered $34,000 over to get the house off the market. They knew an inspection would probably show problems (it did – termites), then they would ask for their $34,000 back. Ray only offered $17,000 back and the house sold for $1.311 million. Ray and Dia made a commission of $32,350. I hope Dia doesn’t spend it all on plastic surgery because it looked like she had had way too much anyhow.
