Jaclyn Smith - Host of Shear Genius
Jaclyn Smith is an actress born in the United States. She rose to prominence during the 1970s and the 1980s when she starred in Charlie’s Angels. While this series had a number of lead actresses, Jaclyn Smith was the only actress to remain on the show throughout all the seasons. While she is best known for her role in Charlie’s Angels, Jaclyn Smith has appeared in a number of movies and television series. Jaclyn Smith was born in Houston Texas to a Roman Catholic father, and her grandfather was a minister. Her very first acting role was in the movie Escape from Bogen County, which aired on CBS.
While she didn’t get a lead role in that film, she would get the starring role in The Users, which was first shown in 1978. Tony Curtis was her co-star in this film. While she married Dennis Cole, who was also an actor, the two would divorce in 1980, and it was during this time that she got a starring role in NightKill, a film that was full of suspense. Unfortunately, this movie was largely considered to be a failure, and it was a blow to Jaclyn, as the film had been slated as being her first big starring role. While critics were not impressed with the movie, they were impressed with her acting abilities.
Her next big role came when she starred as the former First Lady Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy in a TV movie of the same name. Her role in this movie earned her the Golden Globe award and the Best Actress nomination. She attempted to build up her career by starring in East of Eden, but the role was given to Jane Seymour instead. However, it was her role in Charlie’s Angels that allowed Jaclyn Smith to see a great deal of popularity. She was even given a cameo role in the 2003 version of the film. Jaclyn is currently the Host of Shear Genius on CBS, a reality tv show that show cases top hairstylists from around the world who are looking to be crowned the next “Shear Genius”.
