Jeffrey Ross

Edyta Sliwinska may have a tough job ahead of her on this season’s “Dancing with the Stars.” She is partnered with comedian Jeffrey Ross and historically, funny guys have not done that well on the show.

Jeffrey Ross was born on September 13, 1965 in Springfield, New Jersey. He graduated from Boston University with a degree in broadcasting and film with a minor in political science.

In 1995, Jeffrey joined the legendary New York Friars Club, which is known for its risqué celebrity roasts. Having appeared on many Comedy Central roasts such as William Shatner, Pamela Anderson, and Bob Saget, Jeffrey is now often referred to as “The Roastmaster General.”

In addition to celebrity roasts, Jeffrey has appeared on numerous television shows and movies. After bit parts in the films Jeffrey and Celtic Pride, he appeared in The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle, Along Came Polly, Stuck on You, and Larry the Cable Guy’s Christmas Spectacular. He made guest appearances on such television shows as “Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist,” “Six Feet Under,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Weeds,” and “The Sarah Silverman Program.” He was the co-creator and star of MTV’s “Where My Dogs At?” an animated show which also featured comedian Tracy Morgan. Jeffrey has appeared on many talk shows including David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, Jay Leno, Carson Daly, The View, The Today Show, Real Time with Bill Maher, Countdown with Keith Olberman, and Glen Beck.

Jeffrey is also a writer, having written four episodes for “The Man Show.” He has written material for the MTV Video Music Awards and the Academy Awards. He wrote, directed, and starred in Patriot Act: A Jeffrey Ross Home Movie in 2005. The “home movie’ showed Jeffrey’s experiences while entertaining troops in Iraq. The New York Post said it was “the best documentary to emerge from the Iraq War so far.”

He also wrote Jeffrey Ross: No Offense – Live from New Jersey. Jeffrey has a bit of reality experience as he served as the judge for ABC’s “The Next Best Thing,” which features celebrity impersonators.

Jeffrey lives in New York and Los Angeles. He was involved in the relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
