LA Auditions
Well, you expect things in LA to be crazy, don’t you? The LA auditions certainly started off strange. The Panther Dude just scared me. Okay, his growl was kinda cool, but it was just odd and a bit scary. The cowgirl on the ….cow and the banana – come on people! Don’t you have anything else to do with your time? When Marianna opened her mouth, I thought “Cher?” Don’t get me wrong, I love Cher, but only Cher can sing as Cher. And it is so pathetic to drag your mom in – like they are going to MAKE the judges pick you. People seriously need to learn some self-respect!! It did crack me up that Randy and Simon thought Mom was hot though.
Then there was Phuong, who didn’t want to be seen as the next Taylor. No chance of that happening. As Simon said “You’ve had a go, but it’s a no.” Brandon, the backup singer was okay. I didn’t think he was spectacular, but Simon said he’d be surprised if we didn’t see him in the finals. Sherman’s story was sweet, but honestly, that is not why I watch American Idol. If I wanted to see that, I’d watch that home makeover show with the sob stories.
Day One was good, day two was not so good it seems. Sparkles and Darold – again, don’t you have anything constructive to do with your time other than waste a day or whatever waiting to audition for American Idol? And I think she scared Simon, making eyes at him like that.
The funniest part of the show was when Simon found out that “I cannot sing my way out of a bag” Eric had been using the vocal program by Randy and Paula called “Sing Like a Star.” That was hilarious!
Okay, one more town for auditions (thank goodness THOSE are almost over – I don’t think I can take many more singing bananas!) then on to Hollywood!
