Last Comic Standing: Amy Schumer is Eliminated
I was really surprised this week to hear Gerry Dee’s name called first as one of the comedians moving on to the final three. I thought his set was the weakest last week, but I guess the viewing public thought differently. He was better tonight with his jokes about the difference between men and woman when it came to drinking and driving. I also liked his joke about using OnStar to get home when he had been drinking. “If you can see cops from your satellite, can you route me around them?”
Lavell was announced as the second comedian moving on, leaving Jon Reep and Amy Schumer looking very nervous. Lavell was funny. He talked mostly about visiting the doctor and learning he had diabetes. I loved his imitation of his mama’s reaction to him having “the sugar.” “Oh Lord Jesus, take me, take me.” He had the audience rolling with that one.
The final name called was Jon Reep. I think Jon is actually getting funnier as the competition goes on, although a lot of his humor is physical. He had me rolling with his story about his dad being a cop and accidentally setting his gun off and killing the waterbed. I think Gerry will be going home next week and the final will be between Jon and Lavell, but honestly, I cannot decide who I want to win!
