Last Comic Standing – LA and Sydney Auditions
This week was auditions from Los Angeles and Sydney, Australia. Personally, I thought the Australians were much funnier than the Americans were. Who knew the Australians were so funny! I think those selected from Sydney – Fiona O’Loughlin, Adam Vincent, Gina Yashere, and Lawrence Mooney – are going to really give the others a run for their money. Fiona and Gina were just absolutely hilarious and Lawrence cracked me up with his bit about how claustrophobia is the least respected phobia. He even had Ant rolling when he was talking about maybe a homophobic was that way because a homo fell on him when he was coming out of the closet.
As for the Americans moving on, John Reep was funny in a Blue Collar Comedy Tour kinda way. I really didn’t think Thea Vidale was all that funny, but sometimes I think NBC doesn’t show the comedians funniest work. Sean Rouse was funny as was Dante (one of my personal favorites from LA). I don’t really remember any of Dwayne Perkins act, but Sarah Coasonna, who almost didn’t even make it to the live auditions, was just killing me with her stuff! The joke about going on a blind date that was a friend of a friend almost had me crying it was so funny. That is a sign of a good comic – if they can make you cry laughing!
