Last Comic Standing: London and Minneapolis
This week’s “Last Comic Standing” was in London and Minneapolis. British humor seems to be the kind of thing that you either get or you don’t. There were some great comedians last night in London. The three chosen – Spencer Brown, Ava Vidal, and Matt Kirshen were all very funny, but personally, I found Ava to be the funniest. British humor can be a bit slow, so it isn’t always the manic humor of Monty Python. Ava was more along the lines of Mr. Bean – slow but hilarious.
From Minneapolis, we saw Doug Benson – again. You may recognize him from some of the VH1 shows. It seems as if he auditioned in LA this year, but Ant thought he was too boring, so he flew to Minneapolis. It paid off – he made it though to the next round. Also making it through was Tracey Ashley (who I don’t think they actually showed much of), and the Capital One Audience Favorite – Tommy Jonnagin. He was my favorite as well, but I did find one comic who didn’t make it through to be very funny – Lil Rel. Oh well, there is always next year.
No “Last Comic Standing” next week. In two weeks, the crew goes to Tempe, Arizona for the final auditions then off to Hollywood!
