Last Comic Standing: The Finalists are Louis Ramey, Marcus, Jim Tavare, Jeff Dye and Iliza Shlesinger
It was hard tonight to see the eliminated comics get the message that they would not be moving on to the finals next week. Poor Ron G, he looked like he wanted to bolt off stage before he cried. He had me snorting last week, but this week, his set was not as funny. You could see Adam’s face just drop. He had a good set – the audience booed when the announcement was made that he was eliminated. There is nothing sadder than seeing a saad comic.
Now for those moving on: Marcus is good – very good. I loved when he did the Pearl Jam lyrics and how Aaron Neville stretched out songs (so true!). Jim Tavare – he kills me. I loved it when he was talking about music and he said he entered the young musician of the year and she was none too pleased about it. Or when he did his Jimi Hendrix impersonation. He picked up his bass and asked what was wrong with his impression. Of course, someone screamed out that it was the wrong hand, but Jim said “probably more obviously he was black, but thanks.” Too, too funny! Jeff had a funny joke about his mom sending 65 forwards a day. But honestly – I like Jeff, but I think he is getting the “cute comic” vote. Iliza had good drinking jokes about beer bong and quarters and her co-worker Knowelle.
But, my man is Louis Ramey. Just go ahead and give him the money now! I was rolling when he did the bit about the Amish gangs – chromed out buggies with 26” rims and hydraulics on the horse. And the bit about the tiny town in LA killed me too. How they were worried about terrorists, but we had something other countries didn’t – rednecks. How convenient that the camera man found two in the audience!
Just give the man the money now!
