Last Comic Standing: Who Will Be The Final 5?

The last sixteen comedians performed tonight.  Of that, the judges would choose four to move on, with one chosen by the audience as the Capital One favorite.  With 5 being chosen from last week, this would finish out who was in the finals.

There were some good comedians on stage tonight. I loved Jon Reep.  His Red (redneck) White (white trash) and Blue (blue collar) joke was funny.  I loved Fiona O’Loughlin’s act, but unfortunately, the judges saw fit to send her back to Australia.  Boo hoo!  Thea Vidale was funnier than I remembered her being and Dwayne Perkins has a hilarious bit about woman and their platonic male friends.  My favorite of the night was Lavell Crawford.  He just cracks me up so hard, I can hardly keep watching.  He was the audience favorite of the night.

I loved Greg Warren’s set, but he was not chosen for the finals either.  Nor was Mel Silverback, the guy in the ape suit.  So just who did make it to the finals?  Gerry Dee (he was okay), Lavell Crawford, Jon Reep, Amy Schumer (she’s okay), and Matt Kirshen, the only comedian to make it from England.  Canada got one (Gerry Dee) and Australia was completely shut out.  Too bad – I felt Fiona really deserved to be there!

I think no matter what anyone says we’ve all formed various types and levels of prejudice. We think the way we do because of our life experiences, and no one can change that. There’s this new online Zogby poll/survey on GSN.com to hype the new show, “Without Prejudice?” that basically measures the extent of your prejudices. It’s surprising what some of the panelists on the show say. They bash the others for being a certain race or things they’ve done. You should check it out; it’s pretty interesting. Check out the survey at gsn.com/withoutprejudice.

I saw the preview for that show and no doubt it will be an interesting show. I used to know a person, long hair, unkept. If you didn’t know the person you would of thought he was a some freak, but actually was one of the nicest people to know and had great career in computer programming.
