Libbies View on Final 24
Tonight was the first four eliminations for American Idol’s final 24 and it held a few shocking moments for me. I really didn’t expect Becky to go so early. While not having the greatest voice, she certainly was easy on the eyes, what I had come to call the Playmate Idol. But like Simon said, she probably has a great career awaiting her as a model. She and her sister have already posed for Maxim. The next one to leave certainly came as no surprise. Bobby, poor Bobby, but damn him, he had Copacabana going through my head all day! However, without looks and his lounge singer voice, he was lucky to have gotten as far as he did. If it had been up to me, I would have given Stevie another chance, but America didn’t. Not surprising, but I think she is better than her performance showed. Of course, if we were going just by the last song, Brenna should have left tonight instead of Becky. Finally, Patrick leaving tonight caught me off guard. I certainly thought it would be David or maybe Bucky, but not David. Maybe he, like his last performance, was just too average as Simon said, but I liked him.
