Libby says Katherine will be gone
It was Elvis night for the American Idol contestants, which I think put Katharine at a disadvantage, being the only female contestant left. Of course, Taylor HAD to dance and opened with Jailhouse Rock. He had to know Simon was not going to like it, which he didn’t. Chris’ version of “Suspicious Minds” was “all-ight” as Randy would say, but the glasses were a bit pretentious. Elliott opened strong with “If I Can Dream,” impressing all three judges. Katharine did a mixture of “Hound Dog” and something else I cannot remember and did the unthinkable – she forgot her lines. Randy even called her out on it.
Taylor redeemed himself with Simon with his second song “In the Ghetto.” For the last two week, he has done his spazzy dance routine followed by a song that reminds us he can really sing. Simon even said he had sung himself into the semi-finales. Chris sang “Little Less Conversation” for his second song. I was under whelmed to say the least and Simon agreed with me. Elliott nailed “Trouble” – I am so ready to buy an album of his! Katharine remembered the lines to her second song “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” but Simon felt it was too over the top.
I am afraid that after all her hard work, Katharine is going home next. Simon came out and said he thinks it will be an all male finale with Taylor versus Chris, but after Elliott’s two knockout performances last night, I wonder…
