Manhunters: Aubrey Powell
The Manhunters task force was looking for Aubrey Powell, a member of the shower posse gang who had illegally entered the country. The gang had claimed 1,400 murders, so this was a bad guy. They got a lead that he was in LA, so they flew out there.
They found out he was in a hotel near the airport, but the computers were down, so Michy went undercover. She got a lead from the room service guy that Powell was in room 1523. Then, another undercover guy confirmed that. They got the card key to 1523, but it didn’t work. They tried the old “room service” trick, but the people in the room just said they didn’t order room service. So finally, they knocked on the door and said “Police!” but it turned out it wasn’t Powell. They left the hotel to come back the next day.
One of the guys who remained behind in NY, Mike, found out that Powell’s wife had reserved room 1423 with a 12 pm checkout that day. But, the task force had no car, so Tommy, the supervisor, went to rent a car. While he was gone, their ride showed up.
Michy was in the lobby alone, with all the other guys on the way there, when she saw Powell come down. They told her to get him if she could and race there. After running into the hotel, they found she had already cuffed him.
He was sentenced to 39 months in prison then was to be deported after serving his time.
