Marissa Jaret Winokur is eliminated on Dancing With The Stars in the semi finals
The finals for Dancing With The Stars are next week. Marissa Jaret Winokur has been doing so well, advancing much further in the competition than anyone expected, probably a lot further than she expected as well. Tonight was the time for the glass slipper to break on Cinderella. Marissa and Tony were sent home in the semifinals week of Season 6 of DWTS.
I’ve read a lot of comments on some of the message boards and discussion groups about Marissa. They say that she’s too big, not the best dancer, whatever. I think that’s crazy talk. Marissa has exemplified exactly what DWTS is all about. Here is a celebrity that was way out of her comfort zone, doing something to the best of her ability. She wasn’t the most talented dancer in the group but she was improving each and every week. Last night Carrie Ann called her the unlikely contender.
Marissa was last in terms of judges’ scores last week, and in the bottom this week as well. I guess even fan support couldn’t overcome the poor scores. I’m going to be sorry to see her go. I loved watching a real sized woman dancing on the show, looking beautiful and sexy making no apologies for who she is or what she looks like. Plus having two women in the finals would increase the chances of having a women win the show for the first time since Kelly Monaco won the title in season 1.

I think Marissa did a wonderful job. My sister is a plus size woman and does ballroom dancing and has been to many competitions. Size does not matter, when I watch her dance and see her elegance it brings tears to my eyes. America stop judging on size. Techinique is technique and whether you are a twig or a trunk if you have the talent it shines through. keep going Marissa, for all us plus size girls!

I just really loved watching her perform because she is a real size woman, not some perfect Hollywood person. She was the weakest of the remaining contestants but that didn’t stop me from pulling for her.

i think Marissa did great. She gained a lot of confidence and went really far. At the beginning of this season she was unsure of herself but then made it to the semifinals! You go, girl!!!
