Melissa Moves to the Blue Team

The show this evening opened up with another first on Hell’s Kitchen.  The Blue and Red Teams were going to be cooking for a wedding reception for Charlotte and Cyrus.  The first challenge for our Chefs was a tasting challenge where the Bride and Groom were going to be choosing the menu for their reception.  The teams each had to cook 1 appetizer, 1 meat entrée and 1 fish entrée.  The blue team ended up winning the challenge as their appetizer and meat entrée were chosen.  They were treated to a day of pampering at the Exhale Spa.

This challenge was funny because once again our “Hell’s Bitches” returned.  Melissa just went crazy.  She appointed herself boss in the kitchen and was responsible for their meat dish being a disaster because she insisted that the dish be put back in the oven and because of this it was very overcooked.  During the tasting challenge she refused to serve the dish and Chef Ramsey had to force her to bring the dish out.  At the end of the competition her team was barely speaking to her and you could just see the tension.  One little side question I have is I thought people with long hair needed to wear a hair net while handling food?  Melissa’s hair was all over the place unlike the other women on her team who had their hair tied off.

For the actual wedding reception, for the first time all orders were served by the teams.  Chef Ramsey gave our wedding couple a little wedding gift.  He gave them a stay at the Green Valley Ranch and Resort.  The blue team definitely worked better while the red team just did not do well together.  You could really see the tension between Melissa and her team members.  Even Chef Ramsey was on her butt the whole time.  The blue team was chosen by Chef Ramsey as the winners.  Jen was chosen as the best performer from her team and had to choose 2 potential team members to be eliminated.  Of course Jen chose Melissa and to me surprisingly she chose Bonnie.

When our teams came in front of Chef Ramsey, a little curve was thrown.  When he asked Melissa to give him her coat I thought was going but to my surprise she was leaving the red team to join the blue team and Bonnie was going to stay with the red team.  The look on Rock’s face was priceless because he made it a point to state how he can’t stand Melissa.  This is going to be fun to watch the next episode of Hell’s Kitchen.

Where did the producers find these people? Maybe they had a table outside the auditions for season 3 of Top Chef for those candidates that were not accepted by Bravo. They are definitely a differnt breed than those on the Bravo television show. Not saying they are better or worse, just really different………
