Melissa Rycroft
Melissa Rycroft gained the sympathy of America after a heartbreaking rejection on “The Bachelor,” but that rejection and a last minute injury helped land her on this season’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
Melissa, a sales representative, was born in Dallas, Texas on October 16, 1983. Melissa’s first venture into the world of reality television was in 2006 when she appeared on the CMT show “Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team.” She was one of the thirty six girls chosen to serve on the squad for the 2006 NFL season. Melissa was also on the squad the next year.
Melissa was a contestant on the thirteenth season of “The Bachelor,” which featured Jason Mesnick. Mesnick had appeared on the fourth season of “The Bachelorette” with DeAnna Pappas. DeAnna had been turned down at the season fourteen finale of “The Bachelor” by Brad Womack, who ended up refusing both finalists. At the finale of Mesnick’s season of “The Bachelor,” he asked Melissa to marry him after sending contestant Molly Malaney home. However, on the follow-up “After the Rose” show, Mesnick told Melissa he had a change of heart and was still in love with Molly. Millions watched as Melissa gave Mesnick back his engagement ring.
When Nancy O’Dell had to withdraw from season eight of “Dancing with the Stars,” Melissa was chosen as a last minute replacement. Despite having only two days to prepare before the season premiere, Melissa and partner Tony Dovolani have wowed the judges.

Melissa is doing an awesome job on DWTS. I’m so happy she is paired with my favorite pro, Tony Dovolani. They get all my votes, and I really hope they win!
