Michael Irvin and Mark Decascos eliminated from Dancing With The Stars
The results show for week 7 of Dancing With The Stars began with an encore performance of the Tango performed last night by Donny and Kym, Joanna and Derek and Kelly and Louis. I was afraid that there wouldn’t be an encore performance because of the dance off and was thrilled to see this routine again. I loved it last night and loved it again tonight. After a recap of last night’s show we get the first elimination announcements. Kelly and Louis are safe while Mark and Lacey are in the bottom three.
After the commercial break Colby Caillat performs “Falling for You” while Edyta and Alec danced. Both performances were really good. I love to see the professional dancers perform in the results show. While they make their money dancing with the celebrities it must feel really great to dance with someone equally as talented as they are. It’s followed by another elimination announcement. We find out that Donny and Kym are safe while Michael and Anna are in the bottom three.
Mark Ballas and Derek Hough performed for the first time as Ballas Hough on the show, a musical group. One thing I want to say to these two very talented ballroom dancers – don’t quit your day jobs. It was a really bad 90’s techno thing that I just didn’t enjoy. It’s followed by a repeat of the segment that is played each week – it’s week X in the competition and I don’t want to go home. It’s followed by elimination announcements. Mya and Dmitry and Joanna and Derek are safe, while Aaron and Karina are in the bottom three.
To sum up: in the bottom 3 are Mark and Lacey, Michael and Anna and Aaron and Karina. No one from Team Tango ended up in this group. Coincidence, or not?
Rod Stewart performs next, his version of the Four Tops song “It’s the same old song” and I just didn’t enjoy it so much. I know it’s a single from his new album, but wouldn’t you just have loved to hear him perform “Hot Legs” or “You’re in my Heart” with some of the pros from the show performing along? A bit about how the celebrities don’t want to be in the dance off is next – again, didn’t we see something very similar last week?
The first couple going home tonight is announced. We find out that Michael and Anna had the lowest combined total score and Michael Irvin is eliminated.
Mark and Lacey danced first in the dance off, the Cha Cha Cha. Len said he was back to his best and the routine was clean, sharp and top notch. Bruno said he turns more tricks than Heidi Fleiss. Carrie Ann said she was glad he was back and in top form.
Aaron and Karina performed a Jive next. Bruno said he couldn’t believe that after last night’s performance he was in the dance off. Carrie Ann said tonight’s Jive was better than last night’s one. Len said he was right on the money.
I suspected that the judges would favor Aaron and Karina in this dance off. The past few weeks the judges have been all over Aaron and in love with him and his performances. Once I heard that these were the bottom two couples I thought the dance off would be a waste of time, and I was right. It was a unanimous decision – the judges decided to save Aaron and Karina. This means that Mark Decascos is eliminated.

Got to agree with you about the Ballas Hough performance. They might have known it, because they pulled out the MJ imitation and not a very good one at that. Well, Julianne is sort of on her way as a CW singer, so maybe her brother and pal are a little green.
Does anybody think we’ll see somebody from DWTS as a judge on Iron Chef America in the future?
