Millionaire Matchmaker: David and Brett

Patti, the Millionaire Matchmaker, was trying to find love for two millionaire bachelors – David, a fashion catalog owner and Brett, a energy drink company owner. David was very self centered and egotistical while Brett seemed more normal, but very restless. Brett loved to travel the world and Patti was worried he wouldn’t settle in one place.

David just irritated Patti at first, from his Lurch looking butler who hand fed him grapes to his portrait of Madonna and Britney kissing in the dining room. But, he painted it and it did show talent. Brett had a nicer house, but had just settle down in it after four years of living in hotels in LA.

I loved it when Paul, who had been featured on the show previously, cam to see Patti at her office. Paul had proposed to a girl on the first date, but she broke the rules and moved in with him immediately. Paul never coughed up an engagement ring and the two broke up. Back to see Patti for advice, she laid into him when he insinuated she didn’t know what courtship was. She told him to get the *&^% out of her office and said he should be put in dating prison.

Patti held the VIP mixer for David and Brett, but David was just so pompous and had such a need to be the center of attention. He thought he was just so good looking, but it was hard to see that past his attitude. For the mini-dates, both David and Brett picked Katy, with David also meeting with Jenn and Brett also meeting with Melanie. After the mini-dates, Brett chose Melanie, whom Patti had personally picked for him and David chose Katy.

Katy was apprehensive, given David’s attitude, so Patti sent over Lisa, the life coach. Lisa told him to tone down the juvenile humor, bragging, and share himself with Katy and by gosh it worked! The David at the art gallery/restaurant seemed 100 times better than before. I could actually see some attractiveness there and Katy felt the date went really well. She agreed to a second one, but that was as far as it went.

Brett, who Patti had to yell at at the mixer because he was trying to get another girl’s phone number, and Melanie didn’t really have any chemistry and they never saw each other again.
