Millionaire Matchmaker: Laurence and Andrew

Rachel, Destin’s girlfriend, joined the Millionaire Matchmaker crew this week. Patti didn’t like Laurence, the first millionaire because he’s still having fun being single and his dream date started with a massage. Chelsea found Andrew – Patti liked him, but she knew there was something wrong because he was gorgeous, seemed nice, but at 34, was still single.

Patti went to see Andrew and asked why he was single. He said he worked a lot and didn’t go out much. He seemed a bit shy and socially awkward, but Patti said he was lazy and he didn’t want to work for the girls.

Then, she went to meet Laurence. He hadn’t had a real relationship in six or seven years. Patti felt he was screaming “I’m a Player.” She found him creepy and that his reality was distorted.

For the girls, Patti was looking for someone Jewish for Andrew, but couldn’t find anyone. She gave the wig girl a hard time and told her to get extensions. She told the pretty black girl Dallas that she wouldn’t be right because the guys were looking for Jewish girls. Then, the girl told Patti she was a Satanist – yikes! Dallas was not happy to have wasted her time and Patti was not happy with the girls. She finally found one Jewish girl, but yelled at Rachel for not reading the applications and looking for Jewish girls. Destin, Chelsea, and Rachel had to start over from scratch.

At the mixer, Patti was finally happy with the selection of girls. Both Laurence and Andrew agreed the LA girls weren’t friendly. Patti told Laurence he looked like Casper, as in the friendly ghost. She told him to tan, but he didn’t. She called to have him sprayed in the bathroom. He was flexing in the bathroom – ew.

Poor Andrew just stood aside and waited for the girls to come to him, so Patti made him go socialize. He was so gorgeous, but SO awkward. Patti was worried about him. She finally introduces him to Marissa, who is from Ohio and Jewish. She helped him open up a bit. Finally, he started mingling with the other girls.

Laurence chose Whitney and Samantha while Andrew chose Whitney and Marissa. Whitney was so cute! Both Andrew and Laurence chose a master date with Whitney (the non-Jewish girl). Patti said this is the first time in the history of the club that both guys picked the same girl.

Patti asked Whitney who she wanted to go on the master date with and she chose Andrew. Patti asked Laurence who he would choose now and he chose Samantha, but she said she didn’t want to be anyone’s second choice. He then said he didn’t really know any of the girls that well and would trust Patti’s judgment.

There was more drama when Marissa fussed to Patti that Andrew wasn’t ready to settle down he wouldn’t have picked the 20 year old non-Jewish girl. Patti slammed her, saying that she picked the pretty guy too, so she was no different. Marissa said she would be open to a date with Laurence and he says okay. Patti agrees, but only if Marissa will let her do a makeover and tone down the makeup.

Laurence picked Marissa up in a limo and took her shopping for dresses. She said she felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, but I am not sure that is a good analogy. He offered Marissa alcohol in the limo then took her to a restaurant. He offered her a shot of vodka (that turned into several!) in a controlled environment. After they both got tipsy, he asked her if she wanted to go to Vegas, but she was not open to that even though she felt they got along well.

Andrew took Whitney to a state park and saw deer. They had a picnic dinner with wine, flowers, and the sunset – how sweet. He really tried and planned a great evening. They shared a kiss – such a cute couple!

Patti called Whitney and she said the date went great. She met with Andrew and he said they already had plans for another date. They are still dating.

Patti called Marissa and she said that he asked her to go to Vegas, but she wanted to take it slow. Patti called Laurence and he claimed that he would have been a gentleman in Vegas. He told Patti that Marissa chickened out and it turned him off. Patti got irate and yelled. She told him to call her and ask her out – right then. He said it wasn’t traditional and Marissa should call him and ask him out. Patti kicked him out of the office and told him his membership would not be refunded.

Laurence, showing a lot of class (not), called Marissa, but ended up hanging up on her.
