Monday Night’s DWTS
Sparkling! No, not the dancing, all the white teeth. Monday’s performance of DWTS could have been sponsored by Crest Whitening Strips. Especially Susan and Tony, they could have blinded one when they smiled together!
Enough of that, let’s get to the dancing. Two dances were featured, the Rumba and the Paso Doble. I know that the stars had fewer days to prepare, but some of the performances looked liked they phoned them in.
Let’s begin with the rumba: Toni and Alec did a very sexy and passionate performance that reasonably resembled a rumba, lots of stretching and posing, and, heaven forbid two yes two lifts. Alec must have forgotten this rule, it’s been a while since he’s appeared. Also, Alec, don’t give up your day job – the singing on a scale of 1 to 10, it was 0. Rocco and Karina came next, this dance was stiff and there is no chemistry between these two at all. Rocco, go back to your day job. Kim said it was time to bring “sexy” back; that’s what she said….she didn’t. The performance was more appropriate for Pollyanna, and she looked like an ice queen; even Mark couldn’t save this one. Now, I’m not a great fan of the performances of Maurice and Cheryl, but this time he left the “street dancing” behind and did a surprisingly good rumba. It was smooth and restrained for him. The judges weren’t impressed, I was; that’s why they are judges and I’m not. Next we have Susan and Tony, of the sparkling teeth fame. Her costume was more appropriate for Cleopatra, absolutely elegant and gorgeous. Her dance, elegant, no hip movement, tries though. Cody and Julianne did what was referred to as the “Teenage Rumba”, but teenage or not, it was the best rumba of the night. Cody has great potential, and Julianne brings out the best in her partners (even Adam Carolla.)
Now we come to what is one of my favorites, the Paso Doble. Brooke and Derek did an excellent paso. The costumes were great, and even though the music was absolutely horrible they pulled it out. Lance and Lacey on the other hand did a crummy paso doble. All their dances look alike – and those costumes – there was no hint of the latin in it at all. The music was also horrible, who picks out these songs. Speaking of horrible costumes, the ones worn by Misty and Maks made me think of a bad dominatrix movie. Maks is one wonderful dancer, and Misty could be too, but this had maby one or two good moves and the rest —-boooo! What Cloris Leachman did in the Paso Doble just goes to show that when you put your mind to it, you can do anything. Ok, so she doesn’t have the physical ability to do the stretches, but what she did she did well, and the costumes actually looked authentic! The music was great, something to be said for using the traditional. Warren and Kym reminded you of the “Highlander” meets “Catwoman”. For a big man he is extremely light on his feet. To me he was the surprise of the show, and the score, 24, equal to Brooke and Derek.
Dancing With the Stars’ results show is Tuesday, once again featuring Macy’s stars of dance. Jessica Simpson will perform. And ABC will stretch a half hour show into an hour again! Please somebody, talk to the Music Director of DWTS and ask him/her to please pick up some decent music for these dances, please! Who do you thing will go home? I have absolutely no idea, but on scores, probably Cloris.

Cloris should go home for sure! I think Kim could too. I also think Warren’s diva like behavior I have been reading about could get him booted in the next few weeks too. Love this show!!!

Do you have any links for the dirt on Warren? I’d love to read them too.
