Nadya Suleman Reality Show Update

The Octomom, Nadya Suleman, has finally landed her own reality show. Suleman gave birth to her octuplets last January and since then; her family has been surrounded by controversy. Suleman is single, has eight other children (all from the same sperm donor), and lived with her parents, who seemed to be struggling to help finance her growing family. She fired her free nanny service because she felt they were spying on her and someone smashed the window out of her van. She recently had fibroids removed from her uterine walls and some speculated it was done because she wanted to have more children.

But now, it seems as if some good news has come into her life. She signed on with 3Ball Productions to film a series about her large family. While the show hasn’t been sold to a network yet, Suleman’s attorney, Jeff Czech, said that the show would be “quasi-reality.” That means the production company won’t be in the house 24/7, but rather show up to film special events such as holidays and birthdays. Suleman chose to only have certain events filmed in efforts to avoid exploiting the children.

Recently, Suleman lashed back at another reality series mom – Kate Gosselin of “Jon and Kate Plus 8.” Gosselin said on the Dr. Phil show that it would be hard for Suleman to raise 14 children without a husband’s help. Suleman told Radar Online that Gosselin reminded her of her own mother and “has her own issues.” She also said that Gosselin needs to stop being judgmental and doing anything to draw attention to herself. Suleman insists that her children are healthy and happy.

While Suleman says her children are healthy, officers of the La Habra Police Department called into question their safety, as they pulled Suleman over recently for talking on her cell phone while driving. California has a “Hand Free Law,” which states that a Bluetooth device or a hands free cell phone earpiece must be used when driving. Reports are that at least one child was in the car with Suleman when she was ticketed for the offense.

Regardless, Suleman seems to be getting prepped for her own show. TMZ reported that she has set up the required Coogan Accounts for child actors. This ensures that 15% of the child’s gross income goes into this account and cannot be accessed until the child turns 18.

In addition to Suleman’s show, she has also signed to work on her autobiography with Wendy Lee, who served as the ghostwriter for Christopher Ciccone’s “Life with My Sister Madonna.”
