Nancy O’Dell and Jewel withdraw from Dancing With The Stars due to injury
I was just on the ABC website looking for more info about this upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars when I read some disappointing news. Musician Jewel, who was set to be on the show with professional partner Dmitry Chaplin, has withdrawn from the competition due to injury. Also, entertainment reporter Nancy O’Dell (partnered with Tony Dovoloni) has also withdrawn from the competition due to injury.
Jewel has fractured the tibia in both her legs. Last month Jewel had blogged that she had tendonitis in both knees and that if she took some time off before the start of the season she’d be able to compete. It’s not tendonitis but fractures that have Jewel pulling out of the show. Nancy O’Dell has torn the meniscus in her knee. She tore it in two places, and according to an article I read on MSNBC she’s going to need surgery to repair the knee.
Both stars will appear on the season premier of DWTS on Monday, March 9th to address their injuries. It’s also rumored that changes to the cast will be discussed on the show and one of the rumors on the internet is that Holly Madison (from The Girls Next Door) will be one of the replacements. ABC did not confirm or deny.

Good grief! It seems like there have been so many injuries lately (including last season!).
