Octomom Nadya Suleman Shopping a Reality Series
Love her or hate her, you may soon be seeing the Octomom – in your own home. Nadya Suleman, who gave birth to octuplets in January 2009, is working getting her own reality television show. She and attorney Jeffery Czech have been meeting with four production companies. Over the next few days, the two are expected to meet with execs from an unidentified network. Although a deal may be made within the next few weeks, the plans are not to start production on the show until the octuplets are a bit older.
Their plan is to go with a show that follows Suleman around as she takes care of the kids, learns to drive the 14 passenger van, goes on a date, and celebrates the holidays. The new show will include not just the new babies, but also the six children Suleman had before the birth of the octuplets. Czech has said that Suleman is looking for a show that will portray her in a “positive light.”
From all the comments about her that I have read online, it will take a miracle to change her image. Czech also said that the amount of money she earned for the show and how long it would air would depend on the ratings.
I don’t see this being another Jon and Kate Plus 8. Suleman has had so many things said about her, whether true or false, that I think some people will only tune into one or two episodes to see what they feel is a “train wreck.” If they are not presented with that on the series, they are going to tune out. I just feel there is very little she can do now to give the viewers the warm, fuzzy feeling they need to keep tuning in.
