Only 4 women left on Grease: You’re the one that I want
When I started to watch this show in the first few weeks I thought it could be interesting. Everyone seems to love the story of a nobody making it big. We love the underdog, the unknown, the not so famous making it big. I think as a whole people would rather see someone like themselves succeed rather than someone already blessed with success. I think that’s the reason American Idol is so popular, and the reason why people are really getting into this show as well.
This week was all about the women. We still had a sing off between the bottom two men and women, but only the women performed this week for audience votes. Chad and Kevin were the bottom two men, while Kate and Kathleen (again this week) were the lowest vote getters for the women. The judges saved Chad and Kathleen.
Two of the women, in my opinion, really stepped up as the favorites for the role of Sandy. I’ve thought all along that Laura was my favorite, and all three judges tonight said she would be their Sandy right now. Allie also did pretty well with the Bjork song and survived her wardrobe malfunction. I’m not sure you could truly call the slippage a malfunction – perhaps a hiccup is more accurate. Kathleen did not do her best, and I think she could have been a little shaky after the sing off. Ashley gave a good performance but it seemed really cold and fake to me.
My favorites right now are Laura for the women, and Max or Austin for the men.
