Please send Pickler Home
Tonight was classic love songs with Andrea Bocelli – wow, talk about an idol! I thought it was really “ballsy” as Simon would say of Katharine to take on a Whitney Houston song, but the judges thought differently. Simon said it was if she were walking on stage, saying she was as good as Whitney and she isn’t. Ouch! I loved Elliott’s performance. It was my favorite of the whole night (even brought Paula to tears, but I won’t go there), but what was up with that HUGE tie? Why dress someone with such a good voice like a clown? Kellie – ugh, what can I say about Kellie that would be nice. Nothing, so I will move along to Paris. Again, ballsy to take on Streisand, but she was more successful, with Simon saying it was a good vocal (but he had to throw in the “a bit old fashioned” – to which I agree). Taylor – I love Taylor, but tonight was a bit of a snoozefest. I love Just Once, but James Ingram did it so much better. He did look a bit uncomfortable while singing it as well. Finishing the night was Chris with Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman. Unfortunately for Chris, I love this song (from the movie Don Juan DeMarco) and I thought he oversang it, but the judges loved it, with Paula going off on a tangent about “Loved you, loved you, loved you.” Someone, please medicate her or something!
Who’s going home? I say America, quick picking Pickler and send her home already!
