Rumor has it: possible celebrities on season 8 of DWTS?

With less than two months until the season 8 premier of Dancing With The Stars on March 9th I started to search the Internet to see if there were any rumors about celebrities who might be dancing on the show this year. What did I find out? There is a whole lot of speculation and a ton of names floating out there. When you read this please realize that I searched the net for this information – it might be true, it might be false, but it is really fun to speculate isn’t it?

Here are the names I came across:
Paula Abdul. Judge on American Idol. Her name is being thrown around but then again it’s been thrown around for a few seasons now.

Florence Henderson. Mrs. Brady has been a regular in the DWTS audience for quite a while. Was she just getting ready for her stint on the show?

Steve-O. From the show Jackass. I know nothing about him, nor did I spend any time researching him on the internet. If he named to the cast then maybe I’ll pay a bit more attention.

Misty May-Treanor. The Olympic champion in beach volleyball was injured during season 7. She did make it clear that she was unhappy her tenure on the show was cut short, but will her injury be sufficiently healed to compete during season 8?

Andre Agassi. American tennis champ. Would he really fare any better than Monica Seles? From a female perspective he’d be a lot more interesting to watch.

Trishelle. From the MTV show “The Real World”. Again I know nothing about her and didn’t really look her up on the net but if she is a part of the cast then I’ll probably do so.

Some other names that I’ve seen on the net include R&B superstar Stevie Wonder, Rev. Al Sharpton, Dina Lohan and wife of former presidential candidate John McCain, Cindy McCain. The late Ricardo Montalban was also put out there as a possible celebrity contestant but sadly he passed away on January 14, 2009.

I haven’t been able to find when the official announcement will be, but since they only train for six weeks before the first show it’s logical to assume the announcement by ABC will be coming soon. And I can’t wait!
