Project Runway: Irina Wins!
It all came down to this on “Project Runway” – Bryant Park. Carol Hannah was still hurling, but thankfully she started feeling better before the actual day of the show.
The judges were Michael Kors, Nina Garcia, and Suzy Menkes, fashion editor of the International Herald Tribune. I wondered how much Michael Kors could see with his sunglasses on.
I sorta liked Althea’s collection – you could definitely see the sci-fi inspiration. That one black outfit made me wonder about the straps. The strap didn’t connect where the point of the shirt was – I guess it was intentional. I loved the brownish dress at the end. I thought that was the best outfit in my opinion.
Carol Hannah was up next. I’ve always loved Carol Hannah’s outfits and this collection was not disappointing. I liked it better than Althea’s collection. And she even did pants! I loved the blue dress towards the end and the way that one grey looking dress flowed – that was just beautiful.
Irina has been a favorite of mine since the beginning of the show, although her attitude lacks a bit to be desired. Her collection was definitely the edgiest, but there was SO much black. I liked the grey and black coats. There weren’t a lot of dresses, but I liked the black one at the end.
Nina was impressed by the collections and Suzy thought they all had strong ideas. Michael loved the amount of variety. Nina asked Irina why so much black and Irina said it was intuitive. Michael said it can give yourself a bit of a disservice. Heidi loved Carol Hannah’s Grecian dress – it was her 13th look. But, Heidi and Michael said they didn’t see a lot of cohesion with the collection. Michael loved a pair of Althea’s pants and Suzy loved her knitwear, although she didn’t see the futuristic look in it.
Carol Hannah was out first. The winner of Season 6 “Project Runway” was Irina.
