Project Runway: Qristyl is Eliminated
The “Project Runway” contestants were fearful of this week’s challenge – to please 13 women waiting on them in the work room. Most of them felt better when they saw it was their models waiting on them, but that still doesn’t mean it worked out well for everyone. The models needed outfits that would make them stand out at an industry event.
Epperson’s model had this huge list of requirements including being punk, romantic, and using animal print, while Irina’s model wasn’t sure what she wanted. Nicolas through Epperson’s dress looked like a rag and Christopher said the judges would either love it or hate it.
As it turned out, they loved it. Epperson was in the top three, but guest judge Marc Bouwer saying he loved it, although Heidi felt the model needed help with the top area. Also in the top three was Althea, whose outfit I absolutely hated. It reminded me of those terrible shorts Mitchell made a few weeks ago in the pregnancy challenge. Carol Hannah rounded out the top three with her chic and sophisticated design.
My personal favorite was Gordana’s dress, but most of them didn’t look like anything special. I guess that is why I am a blogger and not a judge!
The lowest scores went to Logan (Heidi called it a tacky prom dress), Johnny (guest judge Zoe Glassner said the purse was the most interesting thing about the outfit), and Qristyl (Heidi said the plain dress aged her model by 10 to 15 years).
The winner was Althea with her three piece outfit while Qristyl and Logan sweated it out on the bottom. I think the judges must have felt Logan at least made an attempt at creating something that would stand out, while Qristyl just tried to play it safe because she was sent home.
