Rachel and Johnathan dance to the Rumba
Richael Hunter and Johnathan Roberts started the show off by dancing the Rumba to “I don’t want to miss a thing”. While one of the judges said they “saw romance between the two”, I really didn’t see the romance or chemistry that the judges said were there. In Rumba also many steps and movement are unpredictable because they
are “educed” from the individual by different drumming beats and the many change of them. Drumming beats are emotionally charged and pro-
duce different sensations to different individuals. Two dancers in terms of
emotion may react distinctively different to the same drumming pattern. Yes, there is a great deal of emotion vested in dancing Rumba, and this is particularly true with people of African ancestry(Black people). In Cuba, for
example, while people from other ethnicity “LEARN”(in a machanical way)
how to dance Rumba, blacks need only to be “themselves”.
