Rachel Hunter
Rachel Hunter is a beautiful actress and model who is a veteran of reality shows, but how will she do on this season’s Celebrity Circus?
Rachel was born in Auckland, New Zealand on September 9, 1969. She started modeling at the age of 17, but got her big break when she posed in Sports Illustrated in 1989. She appeared again in Sport Illustrated on the 1994 “Dream Team” cover and also graced the cover of Cosmopolitan. In 2004, she was paid $1.8 million to pose nude in Playboy magazine. Rachel served as the face and body of the Scottish lingerie house Ultimo until she was replaced in 2005 by Helena Christensen. She is signed with Select Model Management of London and Chadwick Models of Sydney, Australia.
Rachel began her acting career on “The Drew Carey Show,” playing herself. After that, she decided to take a series of acting classes then began appearing in movies such as 1999’s A Walk in the Park, 2001’s MacArthur Park, and 2001’s Rock Star (with Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston). She appeared as a sexy soccer mom in 2006’s The Benchwarmers and also played a bikini clad mom in Fountain of Wayne’s video for the song “Stacy’s Mom.” In 2005, Rachel appeared on a celebrity version of the game show Lingo. She and her partner Trista Rehn won $30,000 for charity.
Rachel has appeared on many reality television shows. She was a contestant on the first season of Dancing with the Stars, where she and partner Jonathan Roberts were the third couple eliminated. She also appeared in the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing in 2005. In 2004, she competed against fellow actress Nicole Eggert for the role of Ginger in “The Real Gilligan’s Island.” She was a judge on the ABC reality show “Are You Hot?” which starred Lorenzo Lamas. She appeared in the VH1 reality show “Celebrity Paranormal Project.” She also hosted the British show “Make Me a Supermodel” and had her own show “Style Me with Rachel Hunter” on the WE network.
When she was only 21 years old, Rachel married rocker Rod Stewart, 24 years her senior. Although a seemingly unlikely couple, the pair stayed together for almost nine years and the marriage produced two children, daughter Renee and son Liam. Over the years, Rachel has been linked to many high profile bachelors including Tommy Lee, Robbie Williams, Bruce Willis, and Kevin Costner. She is currently dating Edmonton Oilers centre Jarrot Stoll, who is 13 years her junior.
In her spare time, Rachel likes to devote her time to charities. She is an ambassador to the Born Free Foundation, which is concerned about animal welfare, conservation, and works to prevent animal abuse and keep wild animals in their natural environment. Rachel also established the Rachel Hunter Lowland Gorilla Fund, which works to protect the gorillas of the Congo.
