Real Housewives of New Jersey: Premiere Episode
This week, the latest “Housewives” series premiered – “Real Housewives of New Jersey.” Two of the housewives are sisters – Dina and Caroline Manzo, who just happen to be married to brothers Al and Tommy, who own a catering facility business. Jacqueline Larita is married to one of Dina and Caroline’s brothers, Chris. She has a 17 year old daughter (Ashley) from a previous marriage and a six year old son (CJ).
Teresa Giudice is good friends with Dina and Caroline. Teresa and her family have been building their dream home for three years now and apparently, she has no limits. Do any “Real Housewives?” She had to have a house built because living in someone else’s house is “gross.”
Dina was divorced when she moved there and the women of the community didn’t welcome her with open arms until she started dating her current husband. As a divorcee, you would think she would understand Danielle Staub a little more, but those two are like oil and vinegar. They end up putting Jacqueline, who met Danielle at the salon, in the middle between family and friends. Dina, who says her husband works “24/7,” thinks her 12 year old daughter Lexi relies on her too much, so she has hired a nanny to help her learn to run the house.
Caroline lives for her three children and husband. When she threw a graduation party for golden son Albie (the only one to go to college), her 20 year old daughter Lauren wanted her to put her shoes on. Okay, that is taking it a bit far! Son Christopher wants to open a combo car wash/strip club. Classy dude, classy.
Danielle is the cougar of the show. Divorced, she had been having phone sex for two years with some guy she met at wealthymen.com (is that really a web site?). After two years, she still only knew him as Gucci Model. When she decided to finally do a face-to-face with him, he stood her up. Jacqueline and Teresa were worried about her and went to the bar to spy on her, so she was glad to have them there after waiting on him for a hour and a half. I did chuckle when she phoned him, cussed him out, and told him “Have a good life or die, I don’t care.”
The show ended with Jacqueline and Dina going out for a girl’s night. Danielle wasn’t invited because of the bad blood between her and Dina, but Danielle kind of asked where they were going and said she might show up. Jacqueline warned them in the car that Danielle might be showing up there, so they switched places.
