Reality News: American Idol Returning – Cowell Promises Best Year Ever!
Let’s admit it – last year’s American Idol was a bit of a bore. Oh sure, we had a few scandals such as Antonella’s racy photos and Sanjayamania, but for the most part, the talent itself was boring. The only real standout, Melinda Doolittle, finished in third and winner Jordin Sparks record sales are less than great.
However, this upcoming season starts next Tuesday (Jan 15) and notoriously picky judge Simon Cowell has said this will be the best year yet. Of course, the auditions will feature the best of the worst as well. But, Simon has said, “I think three or four of the contestants we’ve got this year would have gotten recording contracts even without ‘Idol’. I think they’re that good.” He went on to say of this upcoming season, “It’s younger, I think the talent is more current, they’re more interesting people. So I go into this season a lot more optimistic than I went in last year.”
Let’ just hope there’s no Sanjaya.
