Reality News: Catching Up with American Idol…Again
It seems there is a never-ending supply of news about “American Idol.” This week is no exception!
Chris Daughtry, eliminated in fourth place on the fifth season of “American Idol,” may just be having the last laugh. The self-titled debut album by his band Daughtry has been named the most popular album of the year by Billboard. Since being released on November 21, 2006, the album has sold 3.2 million copies. The band has also been nominated for four Grammys – Best Rock Album, Best Rock Song, Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group, and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group. The band will also be opening for Bon Jovi on their Lost Highway Tour. Not too shabby for a fourth place finisher!
In other “American Idol” news, executive producer Nigel Lythgoe has just said “No”…to Britney Spears. He said the troubled pop diva will not be invited to make a guest appearance on the hit show until she “pulls herself together.” Ouch!
