Reality News: Hatch Denied, Sparks Single Drops, and McPhee Marries!
The original “Survivor” winner Richard Hatch has lost his tax evasion conviction appeal. Still saying he is “an innocent man in jail,” Hatch had hoped that a judge would agree, but the U.S. District Court of Appeals has upheld the January 2006 conviction. So, it looks like Hatch will continue to serve out his 51 month sentence in the minimum security prison in Morgantown, WV. He is scheduled for release in October 2009.
“American Idol” season six winner Jordin Sparks sang the national anthem at last night’s Super Bowl and her latest single “No Air” featuring Chris Brown will be released just in time for Valentine’s Day. This will be the second single from Sparks self-titled debut album, which was released on November 20, 2007.
While Jordin is awaiting the release of her new single, another Idol is on her honeymoon. Season five runner-up Katharine McPhee wed longtime boyfriend Nick Cokas Saturday at the Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church. McPhee wore a strapless ivory dress designed by Manuel Mota while Cokas wore an Armani tuxedo. In attendance at the wedding were fellow Idol contestants Kellie Pickler and Mandisa Hundley.
McPhee has turned her attention towards acting and can be seen next in I Know What Boys Like with acress Anna Faris.
