Reality News: Iron Chef Mario and the Food Network Part Ways?

If you have been keeping up on the news, you may have heard that the Food Network announced they would stop airing Iron Chef Mario Batali’s show “Molto Mario.” Could the network and one of their premiere chefs be parting ways?

No, not really. Food Network said they will stop airing “Molto Mario” because there have been no new episodes made since 2004. Rumors started flying when the New York Post printed a story claiming that Batali had also quit “Iron Chef America.” Food Network rep Carrie Welch has said, “Mario Batali is still part of the Food Network family.”

Even though Chef Batali has signed on with PBS to do specials on Spanish cuisine, he isn’t planning on leaving the network. In fact, his reps say he is currently filming new episodes of “Iron Chef America.”

Still, tongues are wagging that the network decided to take “Molto Mario” off the air to make way for new shows with that feature fresher faces.
